In connection with lighting Chanukah candles, many women and girls, who do not light candles, ask whether they are required to be present during the candle lighting and whether they fulfill their obligation if they were not present. Unknown to many, in addition to this query, not being present by candle lighting of the father of the home also enters one into a question regarding the blessing of Sheasa Nissim. You see, this blessing is different than a regular blessing said over a Mitzvah, as the Sages required this blessing to be said even if one is not lighting candles, as when he sees a lit Menorah of another person he is to praise Hashem and bless him for “making miracles for our fathers”. The question thus arises as to whether a wife or daughter [or even son by the Sefaradim] that was not present by the candle lighting must recite this blessing upon seeing the candles!

When should one write the Kesuba? By day? By night? What if the Chuppah will take place at night, must the Rav wait to sign it until nighttime, or must he even so sign it before daytime? What if it was signed by day and the Chuppah got delayed until night.
